Lazy Sunday afternoon with the Audreys

Everyone knows I frakking love knitting. I do however find the making up and sewing that is invariably associated with knitting a bit of a bore. Sewing is something you really have to concentrate on.  I knit while watching tv, on the bus and train, while out with chums, even at music festivals dag namit, but sewing and making up are a sit down, eyes down jobs.

Anyways, I was determined to tidy up the space around my knitting box this weekend, which meant cracking on with the unfinished loitering projects.

I was asked back in February to make two Audreys for Annalisa at work’s daughters. I finished knitting their little bods well over 2 months ago, but avoided finishing their outfits by distracting myself with new knitting projects. Although it took me most of Sunday sat on the sofa in my jimjams, the ladies are finally done.

The pattern is from the knitted icons book Chlo got me for Crimbo. Unfortunately I had to spend a fair bit of time making alterations to the dress as the pattern in the book didn’t quite seem to work properly.

Tim Koh gets tached

Just got back from seeing the wonderful Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti. Got in a better spot than at ATP. Unfortunately the dumb Thekla cut their set short so they could kick everyone out for a stupid club night.

Managed to give Tim Koh a finger tache though. Super chuffed, he seemed like a really really nice chap.

ATP Guerilla Knitting

Just got back from the Animal Collective ATP. It was triffic wonderful goodness, mostly due to the company of Bobby, Sian and JP. I kept up the knitting while I was there and dished out finger tache to nice people I met and some people I think are brilliant like Ariel Pink. He wasn't quite sure what it was and just kept smelling it.

Here are some peices I put up around the pavilion

Mega tache only lasted a few hours.

This Space Invader went up on Saturday lunchtime and stayed there for most of the weekend. I saw a chap wearing it like a hat on Sunday night though - never thought I'd see that!

Sorry, pics aren't great, I was having too much fun! Will put more up when I get them off Rob and Sian.
Some guy tweeted that he saw them and thought they were cool - WINNING!

Soooooooooooo excited, but can't show off about it, boooo

I made something rather lovely this past week, but as its a wedding present, I can't show off about it until the end of June!
Oh well, to distract me from being tempted to post a pic I've got cracking on some yarn bombing peices for ATP next weekend. I tried to make one in the style of their logo.

What do you think?
I'll probably do some classic space invaders too.

Animal Magic

I've been concentrating on making gifts for little ones over the past few weeks.

We went to a rather lovely gathering at Coz and Marks new pad on the day of the Royal Wedding. While there I managed to make to lil elephants for Oscar and Evan.

Got the pattern from here http://philacraft.blogspot.com/2006/10/oliphaunt.html

On Mayday we travelled over to MK with Ma and Pa to visit Chlo Mat and Leo. During the drive I made Leo a little elephant but as its Leo's first birthday in a week's time I also made him Cedric the Snake

This was based on this pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/striped-snake
